Switch New Year’s Resolutions For Love Your Life Goals

Starting Anew

The start of a new year is often seen as a golden opportunity to improve our quality of life by changing an undesired trait or behavior that we see in ourselves.

While filled with Christmas spirit and the very best of intentions, we write out a long list of New Year’s resolutions which – if rigidly followed – we are convinced will allow us to blossom into the best version of ourselves.

Around the world, the resolution to ‘lose weight’ features prominently on these lists, and while many of us would improve our health by losing a few pounds, what the scales say shouldn’t be our only marker for happiness. (though I recognize as I say this that it sometimes can cause a day to start with a profane word or two!)

After all, we can be thin and still be miserable if key parts of our lives like our relationships with friends and family, or our professional lives are out of whack.

This New Year Swap ‘Thinner’ For ‘Happier’

Perhaps a better resolution is to strive to find a happier and healthier you and to uncover as much joy as possible in the world around you in the new year. That means practicing gratitude, nurturing yourself, being kind to your loved ones, and strengthening your relationships with people.

After all, happiness is associated with more oxytocin, and did you know that’s a great natural weight loss drug and appetite suppressant!

My new year resolution this year is to keep working towards living a happier and healthier life for myself and also to remain fully committed to making that happen for you.

Sharing what I have learned for the benefit and enrichment of others is central to achieving this, and to my life philosophy. When I find something that really works I get so excited that I want to shout it from the rooftops, write it in huge letters in the sky, send out blog posts, videos, and do whatever I can to help people!

A Good Read

I came to realize that one of the best ways to do this was to compile all the information I’ve gathered over the year and release it in one easy to use format.

And so, it is with huge excitement and gratitude to share that my book The Hormone Fix: Burn Fat Naturally, Boost Energy, Sleep Better and Stop Hot Flashes the Keto-Green Way will officially hit the bookstands on February 26th, 2019 (auspiciously my late father’s birthday), and is available now to order in The Girlfriend Doctor store!

Hearing what you have to say about the book is something I am truly excited about, as I firmly believe that it will inspire you to take the action needed to bring positive results in all areas of your life.

Loving Your Life

Personally, after repeatedly setting New Year’s resolutions which I would typically break after a few months, I decided a few years ago to ditch them in place of Love Your Life Goals.

I find following these four simple steps really helpful when setting my Love Your Life Goals, so I thought I would share them with you:

Step 1:  Kindly accept where I am right now

Step 2:  Reflect on what I loved about yesterday, last week, last year

Step 3:  Clarify what I love about my life right now and what I want to find more of

Step 4:  Write down my Love Your Life Goal

Your goals will be unique to you but here is one of my goals as an example:

At the end of this New Year, I’d love to have even better relationships with my daughters and more family time together enjoying quality, fun moments. I’d also like to know that the people in my life who have believed in me (YOU!) are healthier, more in love and more joyful.

I just had to throw that in there (ha!), however, I am absolutely certain that you will seriously benefit from reading the book, and when you do, please spread the word to others.

After working out what I want my goals to be, I set them into a workable timeline of daily, weekly, and longer-term deadlines. This helps me stay focused and chart my progress.

Self-Care

If one of your Love Your Life Goals is to be a ‘new healthy me’, then alongside increasing your sleep and making sure you exercise regularly, you might want to consider going Keto-Green® (or Keto-Alkaline®), which means following a diet that keeps your urinary pH at an optimal alkaline level.

When your body is Keto-Green your hormones are more balanced, inflammation in your joints is lowered, and your risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic diseases is decreased.

You can kick-start your mission with my Keto-Green™ Detox Bundle available here. This money-saving pack contains Keto-Alkaline shakes, detox support caps, and Keto-pH urine test strips so that you can monitor your progress and confirm when you reach that Keto-Alkaline marker.

Extra Time At The Store

Changing your diet will mean slightly longer shopping trips at first while you get used to higher-quality products, and where to find them in the store, but I promise, you’ll quickly adjust! It’s so worth it!

When you see the chocolate aisle, stay strong and enjoy the power and inner strength that comes from saying no. Or, if the magnetic pull of cocoa is too strong to resist, do your grocery shopping online for a month while your body adjusts to your new, healthier diet. Shop only by searching specifically for what you want and ignore the offers and idle browsing.

A great way to speed up your journey towards going Keto-Green is to use the Peruvian root maca. You’ll find it along with other superfoods and alkalizing and hormone-balancing ingredients in my Mighty Maca® Plus powder. Make The New Year Work For You

New year resolution or “Love Your Life Goal” ideas can be anything from quitting smoking to learning to skydive. Whatever your goals are, taking small steps that accumulate over time to bring big benefits is more likely to succeed than trying to completely change the way you live from January 1st. Keep your promises within the realms of possibility and your New Year Wishes are more likely to come true.

Try adding one or two new steps periodically to gradually improve your happiness. For January you could eat more vegetables and send two old friends a lovely card telling them how important they are to you. In February you could start making a habit of calling your mom every Sunday night, and maybe find a way to work from home one day a week.

Actions like these are real and tangible ways to lift your mood and feel more connected to the people you love.

Ditch Booze For A Good Night’s Snooze

It really is worth making getting plenty of sleep one of your goals as it improves concentration and mental skills, improves mood, stops you craving sugary food, and gives you more energy. For a restful night, avoid caffeine and alcohol and try not to eat fewer than 3 hours before you go to bed.

Use your bed for sleeping and that is it. Watching TV, reading, and working should all be done elsewhere so that when your head hits that pillow you know both consciously and subconsciously that all you should be doing is shutting your eyes and drifting off into a restful night’s slumber.

Whatever you decide, I wish all of you a happy, healthy, and joyous New Year!

Here’s to Loving Life!

Happy New Year's from my family to yours!
