6 Clinically Proven Steps to feeling great and losing weight

Have you tried lots of different diets, but still been unable to reach your goals for health, weight loss, and energy?

I remember my own bygone days of dieting. Yo-yo dieting. Hunger pangs. Fatigue. Weight gained back faster than I could take it off. I can definitely relate to what you’re experiencing. It is so frustrating.

It wasn’t until I developed my Keto-Green nutritional program – a combination of ketogenic and alkaline eating – that I found a reprieve from all that frustration, not only for me but also for the many women I have worked with through my programs.

Eating a keto-green diet isn’t just a fad. Medical journals are full of evidence about how well this approach works. I conducted my own clinical trials on the diet last year. And our Keto-Green Facebook group is full of real-life success stories from people just like you!

I know you can find all sorts of plans, diets, and bits of advice when it comes to losing weight, staying healthy, and increasing your energy. It can be very confusing to know what really works! 

Well I’ve done all the research for you and recommend these six steps to all my clients to make successful, lasting change, quickly. 

First, get in the right mindset to start or to stay motivated. I recommend seven basic affirmations that help you get unstuck and move forward. The seven affirmations are:

  • I am happy and joyful.
  • I am content.
  • I am energetic.
  • I am productive.
  • I am social and friendly.
  • I am alert.
  • My mind is focused.
  • I feel good about my body

Second, infuse your body with the natural goodness of superfoods – plant-based foods that are rich and concentrated in nutrients and great for your health. This is as easy as supplementing with Mighty Maca Plus and my Keto-Green Shake meal replacement. Maca helps keep your body alkaline. It also supports weight loss, hormone balance, sex drive, and mood, and it decreases hot flashes.

Unfortunately, maca by itself doesn’t taste so good! My preference is maca combined with other superfoods, as in my Mighty Maca Plus, mixed in water or added to a smoothie. Mighty Maca Plus contains superfoods from around the world, such as turmeric, resveratrol, quercetin, cat’s claw herb, cinnamon, apple fiber, spirulina, and others. These have a potent combined antioxidant effect and it tastes great!

As for my Keto-Green Shake, it is loaded with superfoods, too, namely ginger root, flaxseed, and all sorts of pulverized greens to fight inflammation, boost your nutrition, promote gut health, and detoxify your body for better weight loss. This shake makes a great meal replacement while you’re on my Keto-Green diet, too. 

Third, supplement with vitamin D. Many people don’t realize that this important supplement is quite the fat burner – in four important ways. First, when you have optimal levels of vitamin D, your body produces more leptin, the hormone that sends a message to your brain that you’re full and don’t need to eat anymore. Good-bye cravings! Second, with an ample supply of vitamin D, your fat cells resist making and storing fat. Third, vitamin D may work with calcium to reduce the overproduction of cortisol, that pesky stress hormone which triggers the storage of belly fat. Finally, vitamin D is essential for hormones to work together properly, especially progesterone and oxytocin, so you don’t gain weight, 

I recommend that you have your vitamin D levels checked via a blood test, then supplement or get more sun as needed. (A normal reading is between 50 and 80 ng/ml.)

Look for a vitamin D supplement that also contains vitamin K2, which helps the body better absorb vitamin D. I typically recommend 2,000 to 5,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily, with up to 45 mcg of vitamin K2.

Fourth, hydrate! This is an easy weight-loss action you can take today. Research says water increases your body’s ability to burn calories, it’s a natural appetite suppressant, and it removes waste from the body to make weight loss easier. My rule of thumb is to drink 60 to 70 ounces of pure water daily (not with meals, to avoid diluting important digestive enzymes).

Fifth, get moving! You can walk, do yoga, lift weights – whatever you enjoy doing. I love boxing, so that’s what I do for exercise most of the time.

Now, if you want to really burn some fat, consider High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT. The “intervals” in HIIT involve alternating between short bursts of hard effort and short periods of less effort. With HIIT, you can reap the benefits of cardio and strength training while maximizing your fat burn in a short amount of time. The boxing I do is a form of HIIT.

HIIT also gets your metabolism back in shape, strengthens your muscles, and burns fat all over, especially around your waistline. In my book Keto-Green 16, I have a killer HIIT workout that takes only 16 minutes. Try it today!

Sixth, sleep! What does sleep have to do with weight loss? Everything! Medical studies show that: poor sleep is a big risk factor for weight gain and obesity; it can increase your appetite and cravings; and it dulls your brain into making bad decisions (like eating the wrong foods).

Practice good sleep hygiene. Go to bed and wake up on the same schedule. Turn off electronics well before bedtime. Take a hot bath with a few drops of lavender essential oil (which has a sedative effect.) Also, eating and living an alkaline lifestyle is a big part of the solution. It helps promote better sleeping habits by balancing your hormones.

To all these steps, I add this: keep a daily checklist of your actions. For example:

  • Did I check into my emotions by taking the PSQ?
  • Did I take in superfoods through Mighty Maca Plus and the Keto-Green Shake?
  • Did I supplement with vitamins D and K?
  • How much water did I drink today?
  • How much exercise did I do today?
  • How many hours of quality sleep did I get?

Fill out this checklist for 7 days in a row, and see how well you do. Then celebrate your accomplishment.

These six steps I have outlined for you will get you started on your path toward a healthier, slimmer, and sexier body. Try not to feel overwhelmed; do the simpler steps first and they will get you motivated towards working on the more complicated ones.
