Gut problems are diverse and often disguised. They can suck our energy, appetite, and zest for the most life has to offer. This has been an area I am focusing on in helping my father recover from heaps of antibiotics. It also is a primary area I address in all my clients due to so many reasons. The GI tract is really fundamental for health. 2,500 years ago Hippocrates said: “All disease begins in the gut.”
The Gut may be the cause of:
- overweight—especially the spare tire around your midsection
- mood and energy swings
- Alzheimers and dementia
- brain fog, lack of ability to concentrate
- food allergies
- fatigue during the day
- reliance on stimulants like caffeine
- cravings for sugar and carbs
- irritable bowel syndrome
- excessive gas and cramps
- pimples, rashes, dry skin and other skin issues
- frequently under the weather, low energy
- nutrient deficiency
- chronic illness
It’s hard to believe that all of these diverse symptoms can be related to a gut problem, but research has shown a strong link between leaky gut and a broad range of health issues.
This is because it effects what I call the devils pitchfork: Hormone imbalance, inflammation, and adrenal dysfunction
I believe that the single most important thing most people can do to improve their health is to fix their gut.
