What are ketones? Fixed ketones are not normally found in the urine. They are byproducts of fat metabolism. They can form when a person does not eat enough carbohydrates (for example, in cases of starvation or high-protein diets, such as ketogenic and paleo) or when a person's body cannot use carbohydrates properly. When carbohydrates are not available, the body metabolizes fat instead to get the energy it needs to keep functioning! Urine ketones can be an initial discerning tool to let you know you’re on the right track to fat loss.
Why check urine pH? pH is a measurement of our acid-alkaline balance. The kidneys play an important role in maintaining the acid-alkaline balance of the body. Therefore, any condition that produces acids or bases in the body such as acidosis or alkalosis, or the ingestion of acidic or basic foods, can directly affect urine pH. Diet can be used to modify urine pH. A high-protein diet or consuming cranberries will make the urine more acidic. A vegetarian diet, and the ingestion of citrus fruits and other alkaline foods, like maca, will tend to make the urine more alkaline. pH in blood is very stable. PH in the urine can be a clue to discovery about our health. Stress can be contributor to a low pH.
Dr. Anna states that:
In general, high stress, high protein, high carbs, dehydration and inflammation can cause more acidic urine. A more alkaline urine PH of 7 or greater has been associated with less inflammation, detoxification, calmer physiology, and hormone balance as well as safer and more successful fat loss.

I've only did 2-3 times looks like I'm alkaline and don't know what to do to correct that...
Thank you for your interest in our Keto-Urine Test Strips. We hope you will continue to use them on your journey to better health
We want to see Alkaline results- that is the goal :)
>> Why Test pH?
If you see pH results less than 7, your body is acidic. Being Acidic makes us more prone to things like:
> poor detoxification
> hormone imbalances
> bone loss
We want to see a green result! 💚
>> Why Test Ketones?
Checking our ketones lets us know if we are burning fat or glucose. When your body is in “ketosis”, fat stores are burned, ketone bodies are created, and this is what we are measuring and what the body uses as its source of energy.
Studies have shown that a state of ketosis supports:
> weight loss
> reduces inflammation
> reduces blood sugar and insulin resistance
> supports greater overall health (including brain health!).
We want to see a pink test result!

It is so helpful to have a way to track my progress as my body transitions into ketosis. These strips have really helped track the changes happening in my body. The only thing I've noticed is that it's rare that I'm in ketosis and alkaline at the same time. Most of the time I'm in ketosis but more acidic. I'm wondering how to shift that.
