Combining Alkaline and Ketogenic Diets for Greater Health

I hope you had a chance to read my previous blog on the many health benefits of an alkaline diet and my blog on the benefits (and potential drawbacks) of a keto diet… If you haven’t, I would suggest that you do so prior to reading this blog, as this information builds upon that material.
In this blog I’ll be talking about the benefits of combining a ketogenic diet to your alkaline diet and lifestyle.
First some history.
While research studies overwhelmingly showed benefits to a …

Keto Diet: 10 Benefits (& Potential Drawbacks)

Alkalinity, pH Balance & Designing the Optimal Keto-Alkaline Diet

“Your blood becomes more acidic when you eat all that meat!” the interviewee said, and I almost pulled off the road in consternation.
I was driving recently, listening to a well-known nutrition expert talk about an alkaline diet’s many benefits. I found myself nodding in agreement until she delved into murky – OK, completely inaccurate – science about an overly acidic diet wrecking your blood pH.
Often well intended, confusion and outright misinformation surround pH-balanced diets. As a medical doctor who often prescribes keto-alkaline …

You can choose NOT to live with urinary leakage!

As I discussed in an earlier blog on estrogen , our reproductive hormones naturally decline over the course of a women’s life (and men’s hormones decline too, of course!).
And along with the hot flashes, mood changes, skin changes and other menopause-related symptoms, natural downward shifts in estrogen cause a lot of our issues “down there”.
As we age, along with sometimes painful and embarrassing vaginal issues, such as discharge and dryness, many of us will suffer at some point from incontinence.
Honestly, I have delivered …

Grab a mirror and let’s find your vulva

Research shows that as our hormones decline we suffer symptoms with our “lady parts” such as dryness, painful sex and incontinence; and that these distressing symptoms are key to our waning sexuality and how we see ourselves.
So we really need to get a handle on these symptoms, ladies!
In medical terminology these symptoms are referred to as vulvar-vaginal atrophy symptoms. Wow…that’s a mouthful, but I’m providing a short video today that will help you understand a bit more about your anatomy when it comes …
