A Postal Note from Dr. Anna
This past week, I really got to do some fun, exciting things. I saw one of my best friends, Yael. I have known Yael since I was 10 years old and she is very special to me. She lives in Orlando now, and I was able to spend time with her lovely family, who I helped to create. Really.
I introduced her to her husband, the father of their children. We had a wonderful time, and my daughter, Amira, stayed with her daughter, Dani, for a few extra days. Then I took my two daughters to hear Jamelette Diffoot Cassiano preach to a women’s group in Orlando; it was so inspiring and moving! Jamelette spoke about how we are all vessels and vases, some trimmed in gold, some broken and blemished, but all able to be filled with love, joy, happiness, truth, and faith.
After this, we returned to my hometown, Brunswick, for a boisterous birthday party at Tipsy McSway’s, where I met the artist, Ed Hose. Monday night, I experienced an absolutely great couch talk, where we shared secrets and very intimate conversation about Shades of Grey, the novel by E. L. James. Dr. Sarah Gottfried, Dr. Jen Landa, and my dear friend, J.J. Virgin, all shared openly and with wisdom and it was truly a fun time.
This talk inspired me and made me think about all of us with shades of grey. True, I do color mine immediately upon discovery, as do so many of us these days, but this is only our exterior. These vessels of ours are so important to us. We spend so much time adorning them and making them look their very best, but often we miss the importance of what we look like on the inside.
How do you choose to fill your vessel? It can be filled with joy, hope, wisdom, kindness, timeless energy and so many other blessings. It’s a choice we each make every day that we live.
I leave you with this: Be especially kind to yourself this week. Forgive yourself quickly for the mistakes you make. You’re a whole lot better person than you give yourself credit for. You’re smarter and stronger than you think. Care for your vessel both inside and outside. Fill it with all the joy and wonder that life can bring.
As I turn one year older, I sincerely wish all of you a VidaPura.
